Quick summary

We designed the app to work locally. Your clipboard history and data never leave your Mac.
We do not collect analytics or usage telemetry. No tracking scripts. No monitoring tools.
Your clipboard data is stored locally and securely on your device using macOS's built-in security features.
Clipboard content is never transmitted to external servers or third parties.
Touch ID stays on your device. We never see or store your biometric data.
The only network activity is for payments and subscriptions powered by Gumroad.

Who we are

This policy covers the website cliply.app and the macOS application "Cliply - Smart Clipboard Manager for Mac" (the "App"). References to "we", "us," or "our" mean the publisher of the App and website available at cliply.app.

What we process (by surface)

In the macOS App

Clipboard content (text, images, files): stored locally on your Mac in a secure database. Not collected or transmitted to us.
Credentials: app‑level secrets (like an app password if you set one) are stored via Keychain. Plaintext storage is never used.
Touch ID / biometrics: handled by macOS LocalAuthentication. We receive only a pass/fail signal. No biometric templates are accessible to us.
App settings & preferences: saved locally in your user profile (preferences). Not transmitted.
Crash info / logs: none are sent to us automatically. If you share logs for support, we'll handle them under "Support communications."

On the Website

Basic HTTP data (IP address, user agent) as part of normal server operations.
No analytics and no third‑party trackers are embedded by us.
Affiliate attribution via Lemon Squeezy's program: tracking occurs locally on your device and communicates with Lemon Squeezy to recognize referrals. No personal data is shared by us.

Payments & Subscriptions (Gumroad)

Customer & billing data such as name, email, address, VAT/Tax info, payment method details, and transaction records are processed by Gumroad as our payment processor and subscription manager.
We receive access to necessary subscription status data (e.g., active, canceled, renewal date) to activate and maintain your license.
Card details are handled by Gumroad and their sub‑processors; we do not store or access full payment card numbers.

Why we process data (purposes)

License & subscription management: to confirm purchase status, enable features, and send essential account notices (renewals, payment issues).
Support: if you contact us, we'll use the info you provide (e.g., email, optional logs) to respond and resolve issues.
Security: to protect accounts and prevent abuse (e.g., fraud checks by Lemon Squeezy).
Legal & tax: to meet accounting, tax, and compliance obligations.

How we keep things local & secure

Local‑only design: the App operates without network access except subscription checks/updates with Gumroad.
Secure storage: clipboard data is stored locally using macOS's built-in security features and database encryption.
Keychain integration: sensitive secrets are stored using the macOS Keychain; passwords are never saved in plaintext.
Touch ID privacy: biometric matching occurs in the Secure Enclave; we only receive success/failure.
Sandbox compliance: the App requests only the minimum permissions needed for clipboard access and secure storage.
Auto‑cleanup: you can set automatic cleanup of old clipboard entries to maintain privacy.

Your rights

EU/UK (GDPR)

Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable.
To exercise: email support@cliply.app. We may ask you to prove purchase/control of the subscription.
You can also contact your local data protection authority.

United States (CPRA/CCPA and similar)

Right to know/access, correction, deletion, and to opt‑out of certain data sales/sharing.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share for cross‑context behavioral advertising.
Requests: email support@cliply.app. Authorized agents may act on your behalf with proof.

Other regions

We honor applicable local rights. If your laws grant you similar rights, contact us and we'll help.

Data sharing & disclosures

Gumroad (payments, subscriptions, invoicing, tax). Acts as our processor/merchant of record and uses its own sub‑processors (e.g., payment gateways, tax calculation providers).
Affiliates (attribution only): handled via Gumroad's program with local tracking. We do not share your personal data for this.
Service providers we may use for essentials like email delivery or secure hosting of our website. They process data under contract and only as needed.
Legal: if required to comply with law or protect our rights, users, or the public.

We don't sell personal data. We don't use ad networks or social media pixels.

Data retention

Subscription & billing data: kept for as long as you have an active subscription and thereafter as required by tax/accounting laws.
Support communications: retained only as long as needed to handle your request and maintain service history, unless you ask us to delete them (where feasible).
App settings & clipboard database: live on your Mac. Delete them at any time by removing the App's preferences and local database.

Cookies & local storage

Website cookies: used only for essential operations (e.g., remembering basic site preferences or affiliate attribution via Gumroad). No analytics cookies.
In‑app storage: preferences and state are kept locally on your Mac; we don't receive this data.
